President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to reshuffle his cabinet after succumbing to pressure exerted by the growing economic crisis and whispers of factionalism within his ruling Zanu PF party. Insiders who spoke to Zim Morning Post said Mnangagwa wants to chop deadwood and appoint competent individuals who can turn around the economy dogged by rocketing inflation, power blackouts, fuel queues and a population struggling to cover basic food needs. There is wide speculation that some bigwigs and Mnangagwa’s allies will face the axe. “It is certain that the President (Mnangagwa) will reshuffle the Cabinet this month or early April. There has been pressure from certain quarters but the President had already hinted that he will review the Cabinet based on performance thu
The case of former Local Government minister Ignatius Chombo has collapsed after the State indicated that the critical policy document that forms the basis of his criminal abuse of office charge went missing during the November 2017 military coup which toppled the late former President Robert Mugabe. Chombo was charged with criminal abuse of office after facilitating the sale of a government house in Mutare to ex-Zanu PF legislator for Mutare, Fred Kanzama. He was, however, removed from remand by regional magistrate Hosea Mujaya after he had given the State the last chance to bring the document. But prosecutor George Manokore told the magistrate yesterday that he could not secure the crucial document requested by Chombo since there was no handover takeover in the ministry. “

Rudo was only 21 when her father passed on in 1999. He left behind massive debts, 19 civil court cases and seven children that Rudo had to look after as she was the eldest child. “And a lot of people whom I have encountered over the years seem to say; ‘you must have been born with a silver spoon. Life must have been wonderful because you had everything, your father left you with everything’,” Rudo told Zimbolivenews at the weekend “That is not the case, I inherited
Ailing VP Constantino Chiwenga was in fact airlifted to China Sunday, as health woes continue to dog the powerful former military commander. This comes after Chiwenga was reported to not feeling well, and that he had been ordered by his doctors to take a rest. Lingering health concerns forced Chiwenga to abandon his State duties last week, compelling his doctors to order him to rest at home. It also comes as Chiwenga is embroiled in an acrimonious divorce with his ex-model wife Marry - whom he has stunningly accused of attempting to kill him last year, during the time he was hospitalise

There is a question that is being discussed among President Mnangagwa’s legion of ardent supporters and loyalists; should the President abandon humour as a device for engaging his audience? Not everyone agrees with this sentiment. The opposite group feels those that subscribe to this thinking are yielding to the whims of an uptight and tense clique of critics who will attack the President regardless of what he does or says. Even if he were to declare that God is good, this pack of detractors will find fault in it. Therefore, this group of supporters doesn’t feel that it is right for President Mnangagwa to change his style of engaging just because some deliberately miss the essence of his jokes. President Mnangagwa has been criticised for making a joke about v

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s re-engagement efforts with the United States and European countries has hit a brick wall with the diplomats engaged by his emissaries in the Political Actors’ Dialogue (Polad) insisting that MDC leader Nelson Chamisa should be involved in the negotiations. Polad is a dialogue series initiated by Mnangagwa and leaders of fringe parties who participated in the 2018 presidential elections. Chamisa, who refused to endorse Mnangagwa’s July 2018 electoral victory, has refused to be part of Polad. Mnangagwa’s grouping has been trying to engage the international community to end the country’s years of isolation through its sub-committee on international relations and re-engagement led by MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe. It has, ho
