Nelson Chamisa Is MDC President I’m The Vice President Tendai Biti Defies Court Ruling

HARARE East legislator Tendai Biti has said the Supreme Court ruling of Tuesday afternoon will not change the fact that Nelson Chamisa is the president of the MDC Alliance.  Biti was speaking moments after the Supreme Court delivered a shattering judgement that restored the main opposition party to the settings of the 2014 congress, where Chamisa was appointed the MDC Secretary for Policy and Research. Morgan Komichi Tells Nelson Chamisa Leave Office Now & Return All Our Assets

In a surprising twist to the drama in the opposition MDC party, one of Nelson Chamisa’s erstwhile lieutenants Morgan Komichi has ordered his former boss to vacate his office and hand over all party assets. This comes after the Supreme Court ruled that Chamisa was an illegitimate leader of the opposition party and that Thokozani Khupe was the rightful leader of the party. Supreme Court Rules Chamisa Is Illegitimate MDC President

THE Supreme Court today ruled that Nelson Chamisa is not the legitimate MDC leader in a judgment that settles the leadership wrangle between the two foes. The ruling follows an appeal by MDC-Alliance leaders Chamisa and Morgan Komichi challenging a High Court ruling in May last year which declared that Chamisa was illegitimately acting as the party leader.  During the appeal hearing last October, Dr Khupe who was being represented by Professor Lovemore Madhuku asked the Supreme Court to throw out Mr Chamisa’s appeal on legitimacy to enable her to hold an extraordinary congress and pick up the pieces. The dismissal of the appeal must reinstate Dr Khupe as the proper leader of the Movement for Democratic Change and the opposition party will go back and start from February

Mthuli Ncube One Million Families To Receive Cash During Covid-19 Crisis

THE Finance Ministry has set aside resources to cover one million vulnerable households at a time when the country is on lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. In a statement Monday evening, the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Professor Mthuli Ncube said, “Vulnerable groups in our society are the most exposed under this Covid-19 crisis. “Accordingly, treasury has set aside resources to cover one million vulnerable households under a Cash Transfer programme and payment will commence immediately.” The minister said some $200 million per month will be set aside for the programme over the next three months. Judge’s Son Confesses To Killing Ximex Mall Dealer Sypho

A High Court judge’s 21-year old son was on Tuesday arrested for the murder of the missing Ximex Mall dealer who was found dead in Ruwa after a two week- long search.  Masvingo resident judge, Justice Garainesu Mawadze, is the father to the self- confessed murderer. The murderer Munyaradzi Junior Mawadze confessed to committing the heinous act and implicated his two friends Elvin Dongo Saungweme(22) and Dylon Balani (22) after interrogation  by officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (Homicide). SA Minister Promises Fence To Stop Zimbabwean Immigrants Will Be Done In A Month

SOUTH Africa’s Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Patricia de Lille has reiterated that they will complete the fence on the Beitbridge border with Zimbabwe within a month to restrict the movement of people. This is part of the measures implemented by the government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic ahead of the lockdown on Thursday. De Lille told the media in Cape Town on Wednesday they were on track with the plans and the contractor was already on site. Mnangagwa Shuts All Borders Except For Returning Residents

Zimbabwe has finally closed its borders in response to the deadly coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic. President Emmerson Mnangagwa made the announcement when he addressed the nation on Monday night on the further measures that his government was putting in place to fight the spread of the coronavirus which has wreaked havoc across the world. Zimbabwe has recorded two cases of the deadly coronavirus and the disease has already claimed the life of young broadcaster Zororo Makamba. Ginimbi Asks Court To Dismiss His Tax Fraud Case

Businessman Genius Kadungure, who is facing four counts of prejudicing Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) of over $3,8 million in taxes, has applied for exception on all the counts arguing he did not act criminally in any way. Kadungure is charged in his personal capacity as the second accused while his company, Piko Trading, is the first accused. Through his lawyer Mr Jonathan Samkange, Kadungure argued in his application that he could not be charged in his personal capacity because he was not resident in Zimbabwe during the relevant period.
