A 43-year-old landlady from Vumbachikwe Mine in prison after being convicted of abusing her four-year-old tenant's son

A 43-year-old landlady from Vumbachikwe Mine has been sentenced to an effective 17 years in prison after being convicted of abusing her four-year-old tenant's son. The conviction followed a full trial at the Gwanda magistrates’ court, where she was found guilty of one count of aggravated indecent assault. She was initially sentenced to 20 years, with three years suspended on condition of good behaviour, leaving a 17-year custodial term.           The abuse came to light in late November 2025 after the child attempted to re-enact the assault with his seven-year-old brother at their family home. The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that Zimbabwean musician Malloti is being sought in connection with an armed robbery case dating back to 2017.   According to authorities, a warrant of arrest was issued by the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court in the Western Cape after she allegedly failed to appear in relation to the matter.         Police say she is believed to be in Zimbabwe.   Western Cape SAPS spokesperson Captain F.C.
