Looting VP Mohadi Commissions False US$1.8 Million Bridge

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government has once again shocked Zimbabweans after Vice President Kembo Mohadi on Wednesday commissioned a ‘small’ Pembi Bridge in Mvurwi, Mashonaland Central, reportedly constructed using US$1,8 million. The State media reported that the government spent US$1,8 million to construct the bridge which it claimed would be a key enabler of economic development in the province. “The bridge and its road approaches were constructed between August 2017 and September 2019 and links various districts in the province as well as other areas in the country,” the report said. “The old low lying single-carriage bridge was a high accident zone with 47 accidents being experienced there in the past years,” the report added. Police To Arrest Shurugwi Beating Up Female Farm Workers

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has said that it is seeking a man who is beating up female farm workers in a video that has gone viral on social media. In a statement on its official Twitter page, police appealed to members of the public with information that can lead to the man’s arrest to come forward. The statement reads: The ZRP has observed a video circulating on the social media where a man is seen assaulting several women using what appears to be a hosepipe after forcing them to eat pepper. We are therefore appealing for information which may lead to the identification of victims and the assailant thereto. Thokozani Khupe gets $7.5 million from the government. The government believes Khupe is the legitimate leader of the MDC Alliance and is entitled to the $7,4 million despite her having lost the 2018 elections to the same party he now claims to lead. Thokozani Khupe led minority party MDC-T received $7.5 million on Friday from the government despite the Nelson Chamisa led MDC Alliance having obtained a provisional court order barring the Zimbabwean government from disbursing the funds to MDC-T according to the Political Parties Finance Act. Magaya In Housing & Stands Investigation

HUNDREDS of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries followers recently besieged their leader Prophet Walter Magaya’s  offices in Cape Town, South Africa, demanding refunds following a botched stands deal.  The followers said they wanted their money back since nothing had materialised three years after paying deposits. Through Planet Africa, the investment arm of Prophet Magaya’s church, the followers were asked to pay varying deposits into a housing scheme. Ginimbi Fined $36 000 For His Tax Evasion Case

Ginimbi’s gas company, Piko Trading, was fined $36 000 and ordered to pay $2 512 149,80 that it owes the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority ZIMRA in taxes after it failed to pay Value Added Tax (VAT) between February 2009 and May 2016. Ginimbi real name Genius Kadungure, appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mr Crispen Mberewere yesterday. Magistrate Mberewere also fined Piko Trading, which was represented by Kadungure, $9 000, and ordered it to pay $355 559 in outstanding company taxes that it failed to pay after recording sales amounting to $24 187 026. RBZ Makes Zimswitch National Mobile Payment Platform & Restricts Ecocash

Zimbabwe’s central bank has announced that Zimswitch is now the designated national payment platform for all mobile money providers with immediate effect. Two Binga Police Officers Arrested For Stealing Cattle

Two police officers have been arrested for stealing cattle in Binga. The two cops are implicated together with a civilian for stealing three herds of cattle in Siabuwa village. Chaosafrica learned from New Zimbabwe, that the two police officers connived together with Edward Muzamba age 40 of Siamankulu Village Naganga area, Siabuwa. Muzamba was not asked to plead to a count of stock theft when he appeared before Binga magistrate Urgent Vundla. Zimbabwe Officially Asks Kenya To Expel Jonathan Moyo

ZIMBABWE has officially asked Kenya to expel a Mugabe-era Cabinet Minister amid claims that that he is organising mass protests against the southern African country’s government.  Prosecutors have approached Kenya seeking the extradition of Jonathan Moyo, who fled during the 2017 coup that saw Robert Mugabe toppled from power and Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa installed as Zimbabwe’s president. Chinese Mine Boss Who Shot Employee Freed On ZW$10000 Bail

A CHINESE national Zhang Xuelin (41) who is accused of shooting his employees over a salary dispute at Reden Mine located in Shamrock Gweru recently,  has been granted a 10 000ZWL bail by a High Court Judge in Masvingo. In granting Xuelin bail today (Tuesday) Justice Garainesu Mawadze ordered Xuelin to reside at his known address number 1 Maple Road, Windsor Park in Gweru and to report at ZRP Gweru every Friday until the case is finalised.
