Police have arrested 1, 2 million people for violating Covid-19 regulations since the start of the lockdown in March last year. In their twitter page, police said 2 934 people were arrested on October 31 for breaching Covid-19 regulations. “The ZRP reminds members of the public that Covid-19 safety regulations are still in force. As at 31 October a total of 1 225 225 people were arrested for various offences related to Covid-19 since 30 March 2020. Following a video that went viral on social media, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has appealed for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspects who were involved in a brutal assault on an unidentified man beside a raging fire. His MDC Alliance party blamed “Zanu PF thugs” for the attack, which comes after a similar incident in Masvingo last week. “There has been another attempted assassination on president Chamisa. A bullet flew through one window of the vehicle carrying him and went out through the other. POLICE have launched a manhunt for over 70 MDC Alliance supporters who engaged in a voter registration campaign in Chitungwiza over the weekend. Seven activists were arrested and yesterday, five of them were granted $6 000 bail each by Chitungwiza magistrate Sheunesu Matova and ordered to report to Zengeza Police Station once a week. Among the arrested were juveniles aged 16 and 17 who were released into the custody of their parents.
