Residents from Machengere, Taruzeza, Krima and nearby areas are reporting that their livestock are dying, and they believe this is caused by unsafe practices at Movis Mine in Gokwe. Community members say that when the mine started operating, it did not put up any protective fencing. Because of this, cattle, goats and donkeys have been entering the mining area and are dying, possibly after being exposed to cyanide. People have reported the problem to local leaders, but nothing has been done.
