A 42-year-old Marimba man was on Sunday arrested for allegedly raping his friend’s wife.
Ernest Njazi was allegedly caught raping his friend’s wife aged 39, in one of his spare bedrooms.
The victim’s husband walked in on the act, assaulted the accused while the woman claimed that she had been raped leading to the arrest.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case.Police arrested a Marimba man for raping his friend’s wife,” said Insp Chakanza.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday.
“Circumstances were that on Saturday around 5.30pm, the complainant and her husband were invited to the accused person’s residence for some beer and they agreed.
“
At around 8pm, the complainant, her husband, the accused person and his wife proceeded toThe accused person took advantage that his friend had slept, and he crept inside the room where the complainant was sleeping.”
The complainant’s husband was awakened by sounds from the room and went to investigate leading to a scuffle with the accused.
From the ensuing chaos, the accused’s wife and children rushed to the scene and diffused the situation.
