General Chiwenga Bans Wife & Government Security From His Hospital

AILING Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has reportedly banned his wife Mary from visiting and has shut out government security, zimbolivenews.com has learnt.

Chiwenga is currently in China where he has been receiving treatment for an ailment believed to be linked to his esophagus that has since been replaced with a plastic one all the way to the stomach.

High placed sources told Zimbolivenews.com that Chiwenga has since been admitted to a Chinese military hospital where only that country’s security is allowed.

“If you hear government saying they have an idea of how he is, it would be a lie. When he left Zimbabwe after South Africa, the Vice President had security details from both the army and the police protection unit.

“Chiwenga is in a military hospital where only Chinese officials are allowed,” a top source said.

Mary has also been shut out completely.

“There have been issues of security relating to her. She has not been able to see him since he was airlifted to China. Only his two sisters and his eldest daughter who routinely visits from Hong Kong have been able to see him. He has two surviving sisters and they in China as we speak,” the source close to Chiwenga told Zimbolivenews

“There are claims she has been leaking information relating to his illness. Its not really a new issue.”

Chiwenga masterminded the November 2017 coup then as Commander Zimbabwe Defence forces before he was appointed Vice President by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

While the two seemed to have been in the best of terms during the coup, tensions reportedly arose after Mnangagwa suggested he wanted Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri as one of his Vice Presidents while Chiwenga was supposed to stay at the barracks.

Ultimately Chiwenga seemed to have prevailed and was appointed Vice President but he also began to have health problems that he attributed inexplicably to the tense coup period while government spin doctors claimed he was being treated for a gunshot wound dating back to the days of the liberation struggle.

Chiwenga has also been reportedly unamused by Mnangagwa's anti-corruption fight that seem to be targeted at people aligned to the Vice President including fuel mogul Kuda Tagwirei.

The President has also been systematically taking out of the security sector key figures who are loyal to Chiwenga including influential presidential guard commander Anselem Sanyatwe who was posted as Zimbabwe's envoy to Tanzania.

Last year his health however immediately began to take a shock turn for the worst, he was flown to South African taken to local private clinics before a decision was made to airlift him to China where he has been for the better part of this year.

Sources recently told zimbolivenews.com that Chiwenga had also been advised by his Chinese doctors to concentrate on recuperating and call time on his political career to reduce stress.
