HARARE, June 3, 2026 — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has called for calm and respect for the law as the country follows ongoing deliberations on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB 3) in the August House.   In a statement issued on Wednesday, police said they expected peace and the maintenance of law and order during the period of parliamentary consideration of the constitutional amendment.   The statement comes as public attention remains focused on the bill's deliberations in Parliament.   The ZRP said the law would be applied to any individuals, groups, or syndicates that incite violence or issue threats against Zimbabweans through social media or other means.   Police also warned against attempts to encourage citizens to r

18 Year Old Boy Obata 42 Year Old Aunt

GOKWE — An 18-year-old man from Gokwe South has been sentenced to an effective 15 years in prison for raping his 42-year-old aunt, according to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ).   The assault occurred in the early hours of May 16, 2026, while the two were walking to a nearby village for a casual labour job, the prosecuting authority outlined in a crime bulletin released on Tuesday.         At approximately 5:00 a.m., the teenager suddenly turned on his aunt along the route. Prosecutors stated that he grabbed the woman by the neck and tripped her to the ground. Despite falling on her back and fighting back bravely, the woman was ultimately overpowered by the 18-year-old, who forcibly undressed and raped her.

43 people's lives Taken Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) following the arrest of murder suspects,

MATABELELAND North Province recorded a rise in murder cases during the first five months of the year, with 43 incidents reported between January and May, compared to 33 recorded during the same period last year.       The figures were released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) following the arrest of murder suspects, Kwanele Phiri and Denford Moyo, in connection with the killing of Telford Hadasi in Inyathi on 30 May. According to statistics released by Officer Commanding Matabeleland North Province, Commissioner Steven Kazingizi, the province recorded 10 more murder cases than during the corresponding period in 2025. April registered the highest number of cases, with 14 murders reported, up from 11 during the same month last year.
