MDC leader Nelson Chamisa yesterday visited jailed Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni at Khami Maximum Security Prison on the outskirts of Bulawayo, where the traditional leader revealed he feared for his life. Ndiweni told Chamisa that he was not taking any chances and was not having any food prepared by prison officials. He also said a team of medical doctors have promised to have him undergo a full medical check-up once released. Ndiweni is serving an 18-month jail sentence following his conviction by Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove for destroying a villager’s homestead. The Deputy Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs, Victor Matemadanda has said the abduction of the comedienne Samantha Kureya, (popularly known as Gonyeti) is an attempt to tarnish the government’s image by detractors. Prominent businessman and cleric Shingi Munyeza has spoken out against the recent wave of abduction and torture taking place across the country. Munyeza who is a member of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC) said he was disgusted by the abductions and called on the state to protect its citizens while holding the perpetrators accountable. The People that abducted Gonyeti & beat her up may of been stalking her movements on social media platforms. Zimbolivenews investogators have found comments between Bustop TV and a person named Nomatter Magaya who threatened Gonyeti telling her she was next to be adducted. Popular comedian Samantha Kureya, popularly known as Gonyeti, was abducted from her Mufakose home by a group of unidentified, masked and armed men. According to an alert by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) the incident happened around 10pm on Wednesday. “The men did not produce any warrant or give reasons for the abduction.
