Isaac Nyakurerwa, a 78-year-old father from Headlands, faced an unthinkable tragedy in Manicaland province as a routine effort to protect their fields tragically culminated in the loss of his own son’s life. Now, Isaac finds himself grappling with unimaginable anguish as he stands charged with the murder of his beloved 46-year-old son, Innocent Nyakurerwa.
The sequence of events unfolded as the father and son duo engaged in the common task of driving baboons away from their fields located at Fairfield farm. However, in a fateful moment, Isaac, in his attempt to ward off the intrusive animals, inadvertently discharged his firearm, fatally injuring his son.

HARARE – A father has been arrested after mistakenly shooting his son dead while driving baboons off their fields.
Isaac Nyakurerwa, 78, of Headlands in Manicaland province has been charged with m_rder, national police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said.
