MDC Alliance Youth We Will End Lockdown & Go After Khupe & Mwonzora

YOUTHS in the opposition MDC aligned to Nelson Chamisa have threatened to prematurely come out of the 21-day national lockdown and unleash bloodbath if the rival camp led by Thokozani Khupe moves into the party headquarters in Harare.

The two camps have been tussling for control of the main party building in central Harare since the Supreme Court ruling last week which reinstated Khupe as the party leader and reduced Chamisa to the portfolio of secretary for policy and research.

However, the two camps have been playing mind games on each other over control of the party headquarters, with reistated MDC Secretary-General Douglas Mwonzora telling State-owned media that he had locked up the offices.

MDC Alliance national youth secretary-general, Stephen Chuma (pictured), yesterday told NewsDay that any attempt by Mwonzora to take over the party offices would be resisted.

“There is an attempt by a hostile one to capture Harvest House (MRT), first to manufacture concerns in the court of public opinion by Douglas Mwonzora and to test the feelings of the people’s movement,” Siziba said.

“The attempt to take over Harvest House (MRT house) will be resisted. We want to make it very clear in no uncertain terms that Harvest House is our headquarters and we are to defend it with our blood.”

Siziba added: “As the general secretary of the youth assembly I am mandated to communicate that position to Zanu PF that any attempt to take over will be the end of the lockdown.

“I am also communicating the party’s position to the democratic forces that we are prepared to surrender ourselves before we can surrender our party headquarters.”

But Zanu-PF distanced itself from the MDC leadership fights.

Home Equity Loan vs HELOC: Which One Is Better?

Homeowners who have built equity may be able to borrow against their home. Two common options are a home equity loan and a home equity line of credit, also called a HELOC.

rnrn

A home equity loan gives you a lump sum of money with a fixed interest rate and fixed monthly payments. This can be useful for one-time expenses such as home renovations, medical bills, debt consolidation, or major repairs.

rnrn

A HELOC works more like a credit card. You get access to a credit line and can borrow as needed during the draw period. HELOCs often have variable interest rates, which means your payment can change over time.

rnrn

The best choice depends on your needs. If you know exactly how much money you need and want predictable payments, a home equity loan may be better. If you want flexibility and do not need all the money at once, a HELOC may be a better fit.

rnrn

Both options use your home as collateral. This means if you cannot repay the loan, your home could be at risk. That is why you should borrow carefully.

rnrn

Home equity financing may be used for home improvements, which can increase property value. However, using home equity for vacations, luxury purchases, or short-term spending can be risky.

rnrn

Before applying, compare interest rates, fees, repayment terms, minimum payments, and closing costs. Also ask whether the rate is fixed or variable.

rnrn

Your credit score, income, debt, home value, and available equity will affect approval.

A home equity loan and HELOC can both be powerful financial tools, but they should be used responsibly. The right choice depends on whether you need stability, flexibility, or a combination of both.

Top Reasons to Hire a Truck Collision Attorney Immediately After an Accident

Timing is crucial after a truck accident, and hiring a truck collision attorney immediately can make a significant difference. Critical evidence such as surveillance footage, witness statements, and electronic logging device data can quickly disappear if not preserved. An attorney acts fast to secure this information and prevent trucking companies from altering or losing valuable records.

Early legal intervention also helps victims avoid costly mistakes when dealing with insurance adjusters. Many individuals unknowingly accept low settlement offers or make statements that weaken their claims. A truck accident attorney protects clients from these pitfalls while guiding them through every step of the legal process, ensuring their rights are fully protected.
