Doug Coltart Gives An Update On Hopewell Chin’ono’s Condition He Could Have Covid-19
Lawyer Douglas Colart is seen in the following video confirming that journalist Hopewell Chin’ono is indeed not well At Chikurubi Maximum Prison and he has been attended to by his private doctor.
Colart further claimed that Chin’ono has the following symptoms, headache, fever, body aches and distorted taste which are all consistent with the symptoms of the infamous COVID-19.
Coltart also said 6 prisoners who are in opposition party leader Jacob Ngarivhume’s cell tested positive for COVID-19 and the issue of overcrowding in prisons was posing a huge risk to all the people currently imprisoned at the Prison.
The jailed journalist, Hopewell Chinono has been tested for COVID-19 after manifesting a fever, a headache and muscle aches.
His lawyer, Doug Coltart told SABC-TV Channel 404 that they are now waiting for results.
Coltart also added saying 6 prisoners in the activist, Jacob Ngarivhume’s cell, have tested positive of COVID-19. The six are still on remand.
Jailed prominent journalist cum political activist Hopewell Chin’ono is reportedly unwell at Chikurubi maximum prison where he is currently remanded. He has sent a distress call to his former lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa to get his doctor to attend to him urgently.
Chin’ono is reported to have sent the distress message through MDC Alliance national deputy chairperson Job Sikhala who asked his lawyer Harrison Nkomo to immediately call Beatrice to advise her of the situation on the ground.
“He has sent me to tell you that he is not feeling well, he is seriously ill,” said Sikhala before the court set for his bail hearing.
