2020 has been a mixture of a tornado, heatwave and cyclone at the same time. As people we decide to either fight or flight. But my 2020 I discovered a 3rd option. To stand still and know HE is Lord. My most favourite bible verse assures me. As God himself says to me and to all of you -
2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
1. His grace is sufficient for us. Grace is his love and mercy for us. In other words his love and mercy will see us through all the days of our lives. So we should trust that God loves us.
2. That his power is perfected in weakness. That it is only when we are weak and have hit rock bottom that his power will show up and he he will show that he is God. And it is in this moment he ask us to STAND STILL. So we may know he is God through his perfect power.
3. Therefore I will boast . . . Many of you have seen me weak and crying. It’s okay to boast about your downfalls. Sing them out loud. Cry facing the heavens. Because in doing so the power of Jesus Christ will allocate you and rest on you.
So my message to you as we slowly make way for
2021 is may this verse comfort you and see you through 2021. May you understand that his grace is enough and his power will fight for us. You have everything you need.
His grace and his power. But above all you have him. You will never be alone.
