Soul Jah Love’s Burial Set For Saturday

The late Zimbabwean music icon Soul Musaka, also known as Soul Jah Love by his legion of fans is set to be buried on Saturday.

According to the family spokesman, Soul Jah Love’s burial will take place on Saturday at around 11 am. He is set to be buried in Harare at Warren Park Hills Cemetery.

This development was confirmed by a local tabloid H-Metro on their micro-blogging site;
Meanwhile as reported by iHarare earlier on,  Soul Jah Love who died on Tuesday evening after a long battle with diabetes was today conferred the Provincial liberation hero status by President Emerson Mnangagwa.

This comes after,  ZANU PF Acting Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Tendai Chirau wrote to the party’s leadership requesting them to confer a ‘befitting status’ on the Zim Dancehall sensation.
The conferment of the Hero Status on Soul Jah Love means that the government will fund his burial.

The conferment of the “hero status” on Soul Jah Love is quite befitting as he was an inspiration to many. The late multi-award-winning Zimdancehall artiste was one of the pioneers of the Zimdancehall genre with a career spanning over a decade.

He was no ordinary musician but rather he was a lyrical genius whose music resonated with a lot of Zimbabweans. All his songs had deep meaning and made many introspect on certain aspects of life.

Soul Jah Love even coined and popularised street lingo like ‘chigunduru’, ‘chibaba’, ‘mind your hokoso’, and ‘yeke yeke’.
