A maximum of 100 people will attend the funeral of businessman and socialite Genius ‘Ginimbi’ Kadungure tomorrow at his mansion in Domboshava, in line with Covid-19 regulations, and the mourners will have to wear face masks and maintain social distancing, as at all funerals.

Musical shows and concerts have also been banned at the funeral in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19, which has claimed 255 lives in Zimbabwe, National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said in a statement yesterday.

“To ensure a decent send off and burial, the Zimbabwe Republic Police implores the organisers of the funeral of the late Genius Kadungure to observe Covid-19 regulations, especially with regards to wearing of face masks, social distancing and the general maintenance of law and order.

“The organisers are reminded that under Covid-19 regulations, funerals are still restricted to not more than one hundred people.

“Musical performances or concerts are prohibited.

“Mourners are therefore urged to observe the law for the safety of others and themselves,” he said.

This comes after tents have been pitched and a stage for musical performances erected for the send-off of the late socialite with plans for a mass gathering of people from all walks of life.

Family spokesperson Mr Clement Kadungure had said there will be a church service from Salvation Army, which is their family church, and performances by various artistes.

“The programme for the burial of Genius is that we have agreed that his body will come home tomorrow morning and lie in the house.

“There will be a church service and testimonies from family and friends.

“We are expecting a lot of people including senior Government officials who will be present for his burial.

“The body will be taken to the tents on Saturday and that is where the body viewing will be taking place before the burial.

“He will be buried in his yard, not inside the house as being alluded to by some people.

“He will be buried according to our normal ways and according to tradition not what different people are saying,” he said.

Mr Kadungure said a mausoleum will be built soon after his burial but it will have his statue instead, since they want the mansion to be turned into a hotel.

He also dismissed claims of an all-white send-off party for Ginimbi saying it was a funeral not a party, so people are free to dress according to how they related with the late socialite.

Family of popular Zimbabwean socialite and millionaire, Ginimbi Genius Kadungure – wey die for motor accident on 8th November say im want pipo wey wan attend im burial to wear white dress.

Dis all-white dressing wey everybody must wear come di burial dey similar with Ginimbi trademark dressing for di lavish parties wey im dey always host while e dey alive.

During one interview with tori pipo, The Herald, Ginimbi eldest sister, Juliet tok say her brother use to tell dem say e want huge send-off.

“Genius na fun-loving character, e dey always remind us about how e want im funeral to be. In fact, e get di plan for ground and dey always tok say ‘ndiri big’, so make sure for my funeral, you no hurry-hurry bury me.”

“Take time to plan for my burial. Check my requirements well and one of di tins be say I want everyone wey go come my funeral to dress in all white, no mata who. Please, make sure you tok am plenti times. Remember, say I be all-white guy. Di all-white need to be on di day of burial.” Juliet say na wetin im brother, Ginimbi bin tell dem before e die.

Medicare Part D Plans: Prescription Drug Coverage Explained

rnrn

Prescription drug costs can be one of the biggest concerns for people on Medicare.

rnrn

Medicare Part D helps pay for prescription medications. It is offered by private companies approved by Medicare.

rnrn

Medicare says Part D helps pay for brand-name and generic drugs, and it is optional coverage available to everyone with Medicare.

rnrn

Who Needs Medicare Part D?

rnrn

You may need Part D if you have Original Medicare and want prescription drug coverage.

rnrn

You may also receive drug coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan that includes Part D.

rnrn

Even if you do not take prescriptions now, Medicare says you should consider drug coverage to avoid a possible late enrollment penalty if you join later without creditable coverage.

rnrn

What Do Part D Plans Cover?

rnrn

Part D plans cover prescription medications, but each plan has its own formulary.

rnrn

A formulary is the list of covered drugs.

rnrn

Plans may organize drugs into tiers such as:

rnrn

Preferred generic
rnGeneric
rnPreferred brand
rnNon-preferred brand
rnSpecialty drugs

rnrn

The tier affects your cost.

rnrn

What to Check Before Choosing a Part D Plan

rnrn

Your Exact Medications

rnrn

List every medication, including:

rnrn

Drug name
rnDosage
rnQuantity
rnFrequency
rnPreferred pharmacy
rnGeneric or brand preference

rnrn

Small differences can change your annual cost.

rnrn

Pharmacy Network

rnrn

Some plans have preferred pharmacies where your cost may be lower.

rnrn

Check:

rnrn

Retail pharmacy pricing
rnPreferred pharmacy pricing
rnMail-order options
rnOut-of-network pharmacy rules

rnrn

Restrictions

rnrn

A plan may require:

rnrn

Prior authorization
rnStep therapy
rnQuantity limits

rnrn

These rules can affect access and cost.

rnrn

2026 Part D Out-of-Pocket Cap

rnrn

For 2026, Medicare says yearly out-of-pocket costs for Part D-covered prescription drugs are capped at $2,100. Once that cap is reached, you do not pay copayments or coinsurance for covered Part D drugs for the rest of the calendar year.

rnrn

This is important for people with expensive medications.

rnrn

Part D Late Enrollment Penalty

rnrn

If you go without Part D or other creditable prescription drug coverage for too long after becoming eligible, you may owe a late enrollment penalty.

rnrn

Medicare says the 2026 late enrollment penalty is calculated using 1% of the national base beneficiary premium, which is $38.99 in 2026, multiplied by the number of full uncovered months.

rnrn

Extra Help for Drug Costs

rnrn

Extra Help is a Medicare program for people with limited income and resources. It helps pay Part D premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and other costs. Medicare says people receiving Extra Help also do not pay a Part D late enrollment penalty while they have Extra Help.

rnrn

Common Part D Mistakes

rnrn

Avoid:

rnrn

Choosing by premium only
rnNot checking your exact medications
rnIgnoring preferred pharmacy pricing
rnMissing enrollment deadlines
rnAssuming all plans cover all drugs
rnNot reviewing the plan each year
rnIgnoring prior authorization rules
rnFailing to apply for Extra Help if eligible

rnrn

How Often Should You Review Your Part D Plan?

rnrn

Review your Part D plan every year.

rnrn

Plans can change:

rnrn

Premiums
rnDeductibles
rnFormularies
rnDrug tiers
rnPharmacy networks
rnRestrictions
rnCopays

rnrn

Even if your plan worked last year, it may not be the best choice next year.

rnrn

Final Thoughts

rnrn

Medicare Part D can help reduce prescription drug costs, but the right plan depends on your medications and pharmacy.

rnrn

Before enrolling, compare formularies, drug tiers, pharmacy pricing, deductibles, and total annual cost.

rnrn

The best Part D plan is not always the cheapest monthly premium. It is the one that lowers your real prescription costs.
