Zimbabwe Republic police have a whole battalion search for DJ Fantan for hosting the Coronavirus super spreader even on News Years eve. Fantan has been reported to be on the run and reports are that he was flown to South Africa before the police could get to him.

DJ Fantan On The Run From Police For Hosting Covid-19 Spreading Concert In Mbare

Popular music producer DJ Fantan of Chillspot Records has gone on the run after learning that the police are arresting the organisers of the Passa Passa Concert which was held in Mbare on New Year’s Eve. At least 52 people have been arrested so far for defying the Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

DJ Fantan, real name Arnold Kamudyariwa, is reported to have gone into hiding after learning of his imminent arrest. Fantan was one of the hosts of the heavily criticised “2021 Welcome Passa Passa” where people ignored Covid-19 precautions.

The police have received a lot of criticism on social media platforms for allowing the event to happen despite earlier on warning people to stay at home. Critics have pointed out that the police failed to stop the Covid-19 “Super Spreader” concert despite the fact, that Matapi Police Station is located a few blocks from where the event was hosted. Mbare Police Station is also near the venue although not as close as Matapi Police Station.
