43 people's lives Taken Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) following the arrest of murder suspects,

MATABELELAND North Province recorded a rise in murder cases during the first five months of the year, with 43 incidents reported between January and May, compared to 33 recorded during the same period last year.       The figures were released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) following the arrest of murder suspects, Kwanele Phiri and Denford Moyo, in connection with the killing of Telford Hadasi in Inyathi on 30 May. According to statistics released by Officer Commanding Matabeleland North Province, Commissioner Steven Kazingizi, the province recorded 10 more murder cases than during the corresponding period in 2025. April registered the highest number of cases, with 14 murders reported, up from 11 during the same month last year.

LIBERATION war hero Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Bernard Million Kapamutengo, who died on Thursday last week, has been laid to rest at Rocky Spruit Farm in Bindura. Hundreds of mourners gathered in Bindura to pay their last respects, with relatives describing him as a kind and loving family man who related well with everyone he met.       “The death of my father has deeply saddened us. We are at a loss, but we look up to God for comfort,” said his child. “We are mourning the loss of my uncle, but at the same time we celebrate his life of sacrifice. Retired Generals, former civil servants oppose CAB3 and accuse President Mnangagwa of driving Constitutional changes   A group of retired military generals and former senior civil servants has intensified its opposition to Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3), accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of spearheading a constitutional amendment process that serves personal and political interests rather than the national good.     In a statement issued on Monday and signed by retired Air Marshal Henry Muchena on behalf of the group, the former officials rejected the parliamentary consultation process on CAB3, describing it as "choreographed" and alleging that citizens were pressured into signing letters supporting the proposed amendments.
