FIFA Suspends Zimbabwe From All International Football

World Football body FIFA has suspended Zimbabwe football teams from all international tournaments and activities with immediate effect. The ban was imposed due to government interference, through the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC), in running the local game. According to FIFA, the ban will only be lifted after the state-appointed Sports and Recreation Commission has lifted its suspension of the Zifa board and reinstated the Felton Kamambo-led administration. FIFA also said that the SRC must also drop all charges against Kamambo and members of his board. Below is the full communique from FIFA announcing that it has suspended Zimbabwe which iHarare is publishing in full.   Dear General Secretary, We would like to inform you that the situation of the ZIFA was submitt

ZIFA Already Looking For Mapeza’s Replacement

ZIFA are set to put in motion the recruitment processes to hire a substantive coach to replace Norman Mapeza whose contract ended last week following the Warriors’ early exit from the African Cup of Nations. Mapeza has been working on an interim basis since September last year, filling the void left by the sacking of under-performing expatriate coach, Zdravko Logarusic. Initially, Mapeza was supposed to take care of the last four 2022 World Cup qualifying games which ended in November last year but the contract was extended further to cover the AFCON finals in Cameroon. ZIFA’s acting head of secretariat, Xolisani Gwesela, yesterday confirmed the expiry of Mapeza’s contract. “Mapeza’s contract was for this tournament. It was an interim arrangement t

ZIFA Failures Zimbabwe Banned From Using National Sports Stadium By CAF

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned Zimbabwe from using the National Sports Stadium. This decree comes after the National Sports Stadium underwent inspection last week. The Zimbabwe Football fraternity has however been given temporary approval which will expire in November after the final World Cup Qualifier against Ethiopia. In a statement, the Zimbabwe Football Association announced that Zimbabwe has been barred from hosting international matches for club and country. According to the media statement, despite repeated warnings by CAF, Zimbabwe has failed to upgrade its stadiums to meet international standards. Here is a list of areas that need to be attended to by the Football fraternity in order for the ban to be lifted. 1.Individual seats in the stadium Th

Khama Billiat Maybe Transferred From Kaizer Chiefs To An Egyptian Team

Two big-spending Egyptian clubs have been confirmed as having the financial muscle and the need to pry away Khama Billiat from Kaizer Chiefs. Interest in Billiat has again been a subject of the transfer window as he nears the end of what has been a largely disappointing three seasons at Kaizer Chiefs. Just a single goal this term, three last season and 11 in his first, means Chiefs haven’t had the kind of return they had hoped for from the 30-year-old. Chiefs are contemplating massive restructuring at the end of this campaign and would be tempted to cash in on Billiat, with being tipped off that Pyramids and Al Ahly are capable of paying up to USD1.5-million (approximately R22.37-million) for his services. An offer in that region would entice Chiefs into letting go of the

Khama Billiat’s Parents Break Their Silence On Age Cheating Allegations

Khama Billiat’s parents have backed the under-fire Warriors star insisting that he will rediscover his form and be at his best again. The Aces Youth Academy graduate has come under scrutiny for his performances at Amakhosi, particularly in this title-chasing campaign, in which he has scored only one goal, a disappointment to many considering the lofty expectations associated with his name and earnings. His father, Mustapha, says he wishes Chiefs can go all the way and win the title so that his son can have breathing space amid such criticism. “My wish is for Kaizer Chiefs to win the league so that Khama will get credit and he will be free to decide whether he still wants to be at Kaizer Chiefs or make a move,” he told the Herald. “What surprises me is that

SA Coach Claims Khama Billiat Akadzora Makore

Outspoken South African coach Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane has suggested that Warriors winger Khama Billiat’s poor form at Kaizer Chiefs might be as a result of age cheating. Ngubane argued that if Billiat was really 29 years of age (he turned 30 on August 19)), he wouldn’t be playing as poorly as he is doing. Said Ngubane: Billiat is playing like a player who came here having reduced his age. Now he’s trying but it’s no longer happening. Maybe he is not even 29. He can’t play like this. Earning so much money and you play like that? The heart and the mind want to do it but the body refuses. Chiefs lost their clear advantage in the title race after losing 1-0 to Bidvest Wits on Sunday afternoon and have now failed to win their last four A

Kaizer Chiefs Khama Billiat Under Attack Again Hanzi Kutamba Zvatirikukubhadhara

Kaizer Chiefs winger Khama Billiat under attack again. “S-Curl” is not impressed with what the former Mamelodi Sundowns man has contributed for Amakhosi this season, especially in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Bidvest Wits, where the Zimbabwean looked flat. Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Jabulani Mendu has challenged the club’s star Khama Billiat to pull up his socks and give the club value for the money they spent on him. “First, they need to check if Sundowns gave them the right Khama Billiat because I don’t think Sundowns gave Kaizer Chiefs the right Khama Billiat,” Mendu told KickOff.com. “Khama doesn’t have that surprise element anymore. That bite, that hunger to be the best on the field for that day. To score goals, to creat
