Illicit Brewery Busted in Harare
A crackdown on underground alcohol production in Harare has led to the exposure of an illicit brewery in Southerton. The discovery comes amid growing concerns over the health risks associated with consuming alcohol from unlicensed breweries.
Illicit breweries have been linked to various health problems in Zimbabwe, with consumers often suffering from ailments caused by unsafe and unregulated alcohol.
This is not the first time an illicit brewery has been uncovered in the country. Last week, another brewery was busted in Waterfalls, Harare, while several more are reported to be operating in Ruwa. An illicit brewery was also recently shut down in Bulawayo.
The proliferation of illicit breweries remains a challenge, with many continuing to operate undetected.
