Zimbabwe Republic Police ZRP has called for calm and respect for the law as the country follows ongoing deliberations on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 CAB 3 in the August House

HARARE, June 3, 2026 — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has called for calm and respect for the law as the country follows ongoing deliberations on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB 3) in the August House.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, police said they expected peace and the maintenance of law and order during the period of parliamentary consideration of the constitutional amendment.

The statement comes as public attention remains focused on the bill's deliberations in Parliament.

The ZRP said the law would be applied to any individuals, groups, or syndicates that incite violence or issue threats against Zimbabweans through social media or other means.

Police also warned against attempts to encourage citizens to revolt against the government, damage property, disrupt the flow of traffic, or engage in activities that could cause public alarm or disorder.

"Any attempt to influence Zimbabweans to revolt against the Government, destroy property, affect smooth flow of traffic and cause alarm and chaos will be responded to appropriately by the Police through the full wrath of the law," the statement said.

The ZRP said it had heightened its state of readiness and was on high alert to ensure public safety and security.

Authorities urged members of the public to continue observing peace in their social and economic activities and encouraged the reporting of any individuals or groups involved in public disturbances.

The police said reports could be made through the National Complaints Desk, via WhatsApp, or at the nearest police station.

The statement was issued by Commissioner Paul Nyathi, Chief Staff Officer for Press and Public Relations at Police General Headquarters. - Zimbo LIVE HarareCommissioner-General of Police Stephen Mutamba has commissioned a batch of all-purpose terrain motorcycles for use by police stations across Zimbabwe, in a move aimed at strengthening patrols and operational response.

The motorcycles are expected to be deployed in urban centres, rural areas and traffic enforcement operations, according to information released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

Police said the motorcycles would assist officers in attending scenes, managing crime-related incidents, conducting general and targeted patrols, and responding to reckless driving on the country’s roads.

The vehicles will be allocated to police stations for day-to-day operational use.

The ZRP urged members of the public to cooperate with police officers carrying out duties while using the motorcycles.
