We have gone for more than 4 months without getting salaries in Shurugwi Town Council.

We have gone for more than 4 months without getting salaries in Shurugwi Town Council.

The new town secretary, Mr Archibald Ncube and the Town Chairman, Mr Machiya have become a very dangerous combination for the town Council.

The new Secretary works in Shurugwi but drives to and from Zvishavane every day, using a council vehicle and at the Council's expense. He has claimed well over $7000 in Traveling and subsistence (T and S) in the few months he has been in office.

He is hardly seen at work. He was in Harare the whole week, at today, he is driving straight to Zvishavane to join Mr Machiya the council chairman. The chairman signed for $1900 today asT and S for the Masvingo trip.

There is a council kombi whose tender processing was done unscrupulously. The Town secretary is renovating a Council house meant for him, for more than $10 000, which was not budgeted for and is enough to pay more than 50 of us.

Our workmates in the plumbing department, have to attend to fauls, walking for several kilometers on foot because their service vehicle is now being used by Ncube.

Most, if not all workers are now fully supportive of the few councilors who wrote to the Minister of Local gvt saying that they don't want Ncube as the T.S because 2 municipalities including Tongogara Dist council refused him.

We used to ask our Financial Director as to when we can be paid; but he has since been far distanced from most of the financial issues. Wotoshaya kuti Financial Director anoita basa rei chaiko.

May the powers that be save us.

Mhuri dzafa nenzara.

Vamwe we are lodgers.

Apa vana kuzvikoro.

These two monsters should go!
