Vice President Mohadi leads Zimbabwe delegation to Venice BiennaleVICE President Colonel (Retired) Dr Kembo Mohadi has arrived in Venice, Italy, to lead Zimbabwe’s delegation to the 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, as the country strengthens its cultural diplomacy and promotes its creative economy on the global stage.
Vice President Mohadi was received at Venice Marco Polo Airport by Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Italy, Ambassador Mietani Chauke.
He is accompanied by the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lieutenant General (Retired) Anselem Sanyatwe, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President, Dr Benson Dube, and other senior Government officials.
The visit highlights the Second Republic’s commitment to using culture as a vehicle for international engagement, investment promotion and the growth of Zimbabwe’s creative industries.
During his visit, Vice President Mohadi is expected to tour Zimbabwe’s pavilion and engage with artists, curators and representatives from participating countries.
The engagements are aimed at promoting Zimbabwe’s artistic heritage while strengthening international partnerships through the arts.
Widely regarded as the “Olympics of the Art World”, the Venice Biennale brings together artists, curators, collectors, academics and cultural institutions from around the world, providing a platform for cultural exchange, creativity and innovation.
The 61st edition of the exhibition is running from May to November 2026 under the theme, “In Minor Keys”, with national pavilions from nearly 100 countries showcasing contemporary artistic expression.
