Two ZRP Cops Die In Horrific Crash

According to Nyathi, the incident happened around 10:00 PM on July 29, 2026, at the nine-kilometre mark along the Harare-Bulawayo highway, near the Tynwald Rail Road Flyover close to the Harare Drive intersection.

“Six people died and six others were injured after a kombi carrying 11 passengers left the road and dropped into a deep, water-filled concrete drainage channel,” Nyathi said.
“The victims’ bodies have been taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for post-mortem examinations, while those injured are receiving treatment at the same facility.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police sends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishes a quick recovery to those hurt,” he added.Two of those killed were serving members of the police force. Assistant Inspector Limukani Masotsha, 43, was driving the vehicle, and Constable Winnie Makombore, 39, was a passenger.

Reports indicate that Constable Makombore, who was a mother of twins, had been returning from a funeral in Gokwe.
