Dear Entertainment industry players starting new ventures in the POCAST sphere
I Tinopona TinTin Katsande have no problem with being invited to speak /discuss/debate on your podcasts . Infact I'm greatly honored when you call on me to speak on your topics . Obviously there is something I'm doing right for you to call on me. HOWEVER, please note that I am NOT ABLE to attend as a panelist/guest kana musina kurongeka . This means
1. RENUMERATION ( of some sort ) must be availed.
2. You must give me at least 7 days notice prior to shoot / recording
3. You must be in a position to avail me the edited/ mastered /final product of the podcast for my personal files NOT JUST A LINK .
Yes, I'm all about kusimudzirana and what I can do complimentary I will but remember Im an artist , activist , advocate and above all a mother who must put food on the table .
30 years in the industry I really don't need anymore " exposure " as a personality but instead ini ndini ndinotokupai the much needed exposure you need as a start up media personality. Information and entertainment dissemination IS HOW I MAKE MY LIVING - its how I get paid ,so please be cognisant of that .
And no I DONT WANT TO HEAR ana
" we are just starting off ...hatina mari...."
INSTEAD
" we don't have a big budget but we can afford to give you a token of $..... or something in kind for your time bla bla ...."
pakadayi handi rambe because I can see you too are putting effort and you RESPECT MY BRAND, TRADE , SKILLS AND OPINION.
I thank you 🙇♂️ 😁😁😁So I got a podcast,I pay the studio rental,Cameraman,editors ,transport the guest .
In turn I post the video on YouTube and If I get 10 000 views that is $10 .
Meaning to say the video revenue is not capable to cover 1% of the expenses.
Therefore, podcasts don’t pay that much and as a podcaster,I am financing this from my pocket.
The main problem being Africa has got a very low cpm .
If only we were in Europe we could afford to pay you .
But I understand you.
