llegedly target€d money changers and airtime vendors.The arrested suspects include Tinashe Nkomo (39), also known as Sadamu or Jeck, Future Moyo (35), Decent Moyo (35), Obey Chiware (38), Wiseman Muleya (30), Tendai Mapira (45), Khumbulani Mabhena (42), and Admire Charumbira (36). Authorities allege the gang targeted homes and businesses, stealing large sums of cash, mobile phones, and airtime vouchers.
According to police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the breakthrough came after detectives from CID Beitbridge traced Future Moyo, who was implicated in a robbery on July 27, 2025. In that incident, an airtime vendor in Garikai was robbed of ZAR 15,000 and two cellphones.
“Moyo was arrested while offloading airtime vouchers at cut-price rates, which raised suspicion,” said Nyathi. “His confession led investigators to the rest of the syndicate.”
During the operation, police recovered a Girsan pistol with 36 rounds, two vehicles used as getaway cars—a Honda Fit (AEO 9989) and a Toyota Probox (AGT 7877)—along with airtime vouchers worth US$310.
