NGWENYA ARRESTED FOR KILLING AND ATTEMPTING TO KILL
Hammanskraal — Police in Makapanstad have arrested Mfana Ngwenya (26) in connection with the brutal killing of Kgaugelo Seema, whose murder on Thursday, 21 August 2025, has left the Hammanskraal community shattered.
According to reports, Ngwenya fatally STABBED 20-year-old Kgaugelo outside Dubai Tarven before fleeing the scene. In a shocking twist, he allegedly rushed home immediately afterwards and stabbed his current girlfriend multiple times. She survived the attack and is recovering in hospital.
Ngwenya’s run from justice came to an end when police arrested him near Carousel. He is expected to appear before the Themba Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
Community members have welcomed the arrest but remain enraged at the level of violence. “He destroyed two lives in one night. Kgaugelo is gone, another young woman is in hospital, and we are left grieving,” said a Hammanskraal resident.
Activists have again sounded the alarm over South Africa’s femicide crisis, calling this case a brutal reminder that women are not safe even with protection orders in place.
As Ngwenya prepares for his first court appearance, Kgaugelo’s name is being carried across social media as a demand for justice and accountability.
