Phatisani Resigns From Star FM After 8 Years

It is not clear why Phatisani is leaving the Zimpapers owned Radio Station. 

Phatisani Sibanda who is affectionately known as “Shumba Pazvese” or Chibaba presented the drive show, 326Express with Kudzai “KVG” Gwara from Monday to Friday on the Zimpapers owned local radio station- Star FM.

Phatisani confirmed that he was leaving the radio station in a letter dated July 5. Savanna News publishes Phatisani’s letter in its entirety below:

It is with a heavy heart that advise of my departure from a place I have been privileged to call home career where I need to spread my wings and pursue the next chapter of my dream. Indeed Star FM has contributed immensely to the brand I have become today and will forever be grateful for the opportunity that was given to me to shine.

To the Management of Star FM – Your guidance, support, and continuous advice is something I will always cherish as I move onto my next chapter, I appreciate being a part of this great team of stars. Your mentorship and great leadership has helped me achieve my professional goals and for that I am grateful. You inspired me to keep pushing so I could always be the best version of myself. I feel blessed to have known and worked with you all.

To my fellow colleagues – It everyone who is privileged to work In a team with exciting and very diverse individuals who come together to make a workplace a family and a home. I have indeed been very blessed to know and work with each and everyone of you. I have managed to forge relationships and bonds that go beyond the workplace and am proud to call you family. Continue to love, support, and be there for each other the same way you have always been. It indeed was my pleasure to share my services alongside such amazing stars like you. I am forever in your debt for the many favors you have extended to me.

To the people who made me the brand I am today – Shumba pazvese supporters. Words fail to express how humbled I am to have been accepted by you. You allowed me to shine and we had some very interesting and exciting engagements. You elevated me to a place I never thought was possible for an ordinary man like myself. One great lesson I take with me is that family is not only related by blood as you became my true family. When things were tough, we cried together, when things were go., we celebrated and enjoyed together. The love you shared has made me the richest person at heart. will miss all your energy and unpredictable comments.

So many days of happiness in different cities, towns and countries are now mernOnes I will cherish forever. I will not say goodbye as goodbyes seem final and are sad so will say hello. Hello to the future, to new challenges, to a new path, to new possibilities and a brand new start. will continue to call on your support as I take on my new and exciting challenge. May the good Lord continue to bless you all. I pray that all the desires of your hearts be fulfilled by the Almighty according to His will.

This follows earlier rumours that trended on social media in the earlier weeks that Phatisani had resigned from Star FM.

Phatisani won the Media Personality of the Year 1st runner-up at the Megafest National Business Awards in 2018. Sibanda is fluent in Ndebele, Nyanja, Tswana, Kalanga, Shona, English, and Tonga.

Phatisani personality is also an actor who featured in a television series, Estate Blues.
