Nhamo Karuru jailed after authorities discovered he had been masquerading as a Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer to serve legal documents.

BULAWAYO — A 43-year-old man from Bulawayo has been sentenced to an effective six months in prison by the Tredgold Magistrates’ Court after being convicted of impersonating a police officer.

Nhamo Karuru was jailed after authorities discovered he had been masquerading as a Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officer to serve legal documents.

The first incident occurred in January 2026 when Karuru, dressed in a ZRP uniform, traveled to Montrose Farm 3 in Filabusi. He falsely introduced himself to a resident as "Sergeant Nyoni" of the ZRP Tredgold Court and served the individual with a summons regarding a protection order matter.

Weeks later, on February 2, 2026, Karuru used the same alias in Dlamini Township, Matsheumhlophe, Bulawayo. Operating under the false identity, he served a second victim with a summons relating to another protection order case.

Suspicious of his identity, the victims reported the encounters to the police, which prompted an investigation that ultimately led to Karuru's arrest. During the arrest, officers found Karuru in possession of a police identity card, a ZRP reflective jacket, and a police notebook bearing the name Sergeant Nyoni.

A subsequent search of his girlfriend’s residence in Magwegwe West, Bulawayo, uncovered a large stockpile of police regalia and equipment. The recovered items included police drab caps, STU caps, a police riot jacket, combat boots, riot trousers, grey shirts, handcuffs, sergeant rank slip-ons, and name tags bearing the name Sergeant Nyoni.

Following the sentencing, the NPAZ issued a statement condemning the crime. The authority warned that impersonating law enforcement officers is a serious criminal offence that undermines public trust in the justice system. - Zimbo LIVE HarareQuestion: how did he get possession of all that police regalia?

2. How did he get hold of the summons, assuming they were authentic summons?

3. Where were the real cops when he was doing their job so effectively?

Aren't these ZANU youts vanomborova vanhu pama demo, because where does he get riot gear?

First Offense DUI Lawyer: What Happens After Your First DUI Arrest?

A first DUI arrest can be frightening, especially if you have never been in trouble before. A first offense DUI lawyer can explain the process and help protect your rights.

rnrn

After an arrest, you may face both criminal court and a license-related administrative process. These are separate issues. Missing a deadline for a license hearing can cause problems even before the court case is resolved.

rnrn

Penalties for a first DUI may include fines, probation, alcohol education, community service, license suspension, ignition interlock, and possible jail time. The outcome depends on state law and the facts of the case.

rnrn

A lawyer may review whether the traffic stop was lawful, whether the officer had probable cause, whether tests were accurate, and whether procedures were followed.

rnrn

In some cases, a first-time offender may qualify for reduced charges, diversion programs, or alternative sentencing. This depends on the court and local law.

rnrn

Do not assume a first DUI is minor. A conviction can stay on your record and affect insurance, employment, and driving privileges.

Getting legal advice early can help you understand your options and avoid mistakes that make the situation worse.

Cybersecurity Software For Small Business: What To Look For

Small businesses are major targets for cyberattacks. Hackers know that many small companies do not have large IT teams, advanced security tools, or strong employee training. One successful attack can cause data loss, downtime, legal costs, and customer trust problems.

rnrn

Cybersecurity software helps protect business devices, data, email, networks, and users from threats such as malware, ransomware, phishing, and unauthorized access.

rnrn

Small businesses should start with endpoint protection. This protects laptops, desktops, and servers from viruses, suspicious behavior, and malicious files.

rnrn

Email security is also important because many attacks begin with phishing emails. A good security solution can help block dangerous links, fake login pages, and infected attachments.

rnrn

Ransomware protection is another key feature. Ransomware locks business files and demands payment. Strong cybersecurity software may detect unusual file activity and stop the attack before major damage occurs.

rnrn

Businesses should also use multi-factor authentication. This adds another layer of protection beyond passwords. Even if a password is stolen, attackers may not be able to access the account without the second verification step.

rnrn

Cloud backup is another important part of cybersecurity. If files are deleted, encrypted, or corrupted, backups can help restore operations.

rnrn

When choosing cybersecurity software, look for easy management, automatic updates, threat detection, reporting, support, and compatibility with your devices.

rnrn

Small businesses should also train employees. Software helps, but employees must know how to spot suspicious emails, avoid unsafe downloads, and use strong passwords.

rnrn

Cybersecurity is not optional anymore. A single cyberattack can cost more than prevention. The right software can help small businesses protect their data, customers, and reputation.
