ZCC pledges commitment to national development THE Zion Christian Church (ZCC) has pledged its commitment to continue working with Government in promoting peace, unity, and national development.
Colour, rhythm, and spiritual devotion defined this year’s Easter Conference at Mbungo Estates in Masvingo Province, where hundreds of thousands of congregants from the Zion Christian Church gathered in celebration.
The vibrant ZCC dances and songs set the tone for a spiritually uplifting gathering attended by President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa and other senior government officials.
Delivering his sermon, the leader of the ZCC, Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi, emphasised the role of the church in nation building, acknowledging the work that the government is doing towards improving livelihoods.
“Mathew 26 verse 41 says watch and pray, and as Churches we are watching and praying. We have witnessed developments implemented by the government across the country, and we are grateful. As Churches, we do not compete with you, we do not withdraw from national matters though we anger you, we affirm what builds, we remain alert to what weakens it, and we remind leadership that authority is never owned, it is entrusted, and the people have done it,” Bishop Mutendi said.
Bishop Mutendi’s sentiments were also shared by the Zimbabwe Indigenous Inter-denominational Council of Churches (ZICC) .
“As Bishops and Churches, we are appreciative of the work that you are doing to transform our country. We continue to pray for you, and we feel that you are doing a great job for our nation,” Chairperson Zimbabwe Indigenous Inter-denominational Council of Churches, Bishop Andrew Wutaunashe noted.
Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Honourable Ezra Chadzamira chronicled development programmes implemented in Masvingo, recognising the ZCC’s contribution especially in agriculture, education and health sectors.
“This occasion continues to strengthen the bond between our government and the religious communities, as they form the fabric of our great nation, Zimbabwe. In Masvingo, we recognise the work that ZCC is doing in contributing towards food security in our province, building schools and health facilities.”
“Our relationship with this Church is very deep, and they participate in all our development programmes. We are looking forward to continue nurturing this relationship,” Minister of State for National Security, Honourable Lovemore Matuke said.
The massive turnout at the ZCC Easter Conference reflects the church’s continued growth and influence, while also highlighting its strengthening relationship with the government in promoting unity, community development, and socio-economic transformation.

Cybersecurity Threats Continue Rising as More Businesses Move Online
Cybersecurity has become one of the most important priorities for businesses, governments, and individuals in the digital age. As more organizations rely on online systems, cloud computing, and digital communication, cybercriminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their attacks. Data breaches, ransomware incidents, phishing scams, and identity theft cases are rising worldwide, causing billions of dollars in financial losses each year.

Businesses of all sizes are investing heavily in cybersecurity solutions to protect customer information and maintain operational security. Firewalls, antivirus software, encryption systems, and multi-factor authentication tools are now considered essential for modern organizations. Companies are also training employees to recognize suspicious emails and avoid common online scams.

One of the biggest cybersecurity concerns is ransomware attacks. Hackers often target businesses, hospitals, schools, and government agencies by encrypting sensitive data and demanding payment to restore access. These attacks can disrupt operations for days or even weeks, creating serious financial and reputational damage.

Small businesses are increasingly becoming targets because many lack advanced security systems. Experts recommend regular software updates, secure password management, and cloud backup solutions to reduce cyber risks. Consumers are also encouraged to protect personal information carefully while using online banking, shopping platforms, and social media networks.
