The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of five people who died in a fatal road traffic accident that occurred at the 73-kilometre peg along the Chivhu–Nyazura Road on 24 October 2025.

 

 

 

According to police, a hauling truck carrying cement collided with a Toyota Hiace carrying twelve passengers, hitting it from behind. The impact caused the deaths of five people and left eight others seriously injured. The injured were taken to Murambinda Hospital for treatment.

 

The Victims Have Been Identified As:

 

Takunda McGregor Ndoro (29) — male, Mt Pleasant Heights, Harare (Kombi driver)

 

Juliet Chikasha (58) — female, Southlea Park, Harare

 

Juliet Makunike (25) — female, Burma Valley, Mutare

 

Taurai Manyewu (51) — male, Epworth, Harare

 

Muzonda Marumbei (94) — male, Nyamande Village, Buhera

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the ZRP is investigating another fatal road accident that occurred on 26 October 2025 near Mvuma, at the 192-kilometre peg along the Harare–Masvingo Road.

 

Police have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads to safeguard lives.
