A Kwekwe magistrate has sentenced 31-year-old Blessing Mutangi to an effective 75 years in prison following a series of horrific sexual assault convictions involving seven children in the Mbizo 1 neighborhood. Mutangi, a local barber and content creator widely known by the moniker "Mama Bless," was apprehended by police on April 21, 2026, at a service station along Mbizo Road after reports surfaced regarding his conduct toward minors in his community.
The court proceedings revealed a harrowing pattern of abuse directed at five boys and two girls, all of whom were under the age of 12. Following his conviction on Wednesday, May 6, the court handed down a total sentence of 120 years on Thursday. However, the magistrate suspended 45 years of that term, leaving Mutangi to serve seven and a half decades behind bars.
The gravity of the crimes has shocked the Kwekwe community, where Mutangi was a well-known figure. Despite the significant sentence already handed down, his legal troubles are not yet over.
