Major General Emmanuel Matatu Lieutenant General Vatotanga Kutyisidzira Vanhu

THE Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Major General Emmanuel Matatu to the rank of Lieutenant General and Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army.

 

 

 

 

 

In a statement, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya confirmed that the appointment of Lieutenant General Matatu is with immediate effect and in line with both the Constitution of Zimbabwe and the Defence Act.

 

 

 

 

Lieutenant General Matatu replaces Lieutenant General (Rtd) Anselem Sanyatwe, who was sworn in as the Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture this Thursday.
