THE MAN WHOSE NAME KEEPS COMING UP AFTER WICKNELL CHIVHAYO'S DEATH?
Since the death of Wicknell Chivhayo, one name that keeps appearing alongside his story is Madzibaba Lawrence Katsiru.
But who exactly is this man?
Katsiru is a Zimbabwean religious leader and politician who became a prominent figure in the Johane Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Church in Marondera.
He also became deeply involved in politics and was elected as the ZANU-PF Member of Parliament for Marondera Central, serving from 2015 to 2018.
His political influence went beyond Parliament. He was involved in the ZANU-PF Mashonaland East provincial structures and was reported to have considerable influence among his church followers.
THE R*PE CASE
In 2003, Katsiru was arrested and charged with r*ping a 13 year old girl who was a member of his church.
He was subsequently convicted by a regional court and sentenced to nine years' imprisonment, with two years suspended.
Katsiru appealed.
He spent more than two years in prison, but in 2007 the High Court of Zimbabwe quashed his conviction and acquitted him.
POLITICAL CONTROVERSY
Katsiru's political career also attracted controversy.
In 2018, while serving in the ZANU-PF Mashonaland East provincial structures, he faced a party disciplinary hearing over allegations that he had used the party's name to solicit money from private companies and had diverted the money for personal use.
The party disciplinary process found him guilty.
He was fined US$1,000 and suspended for two years from holding public office.
The disciplinary charges also accused him of bringing ZANU-PF into disrepute through corrupt activities while serving as provincial secretary for administration.
AND THEN THERE WAS WICKNELL
Later, Katsiru became closely associated with Wicknell Chivhayo.
Chivhayo publicly regarded Katsiru as his spiritual father and showed him extraordinary generosity.
He reportedly gifted him and his wife top of the range vehicles, buses, trucks and smaller vehicles to Katsiru's church and members. Katsiru was a prominent spiritual figure in Chivhayo's life and was publicly associated with him on numerous occasions.
Other church leaders are on record accusing Katsiru of not wanting any other leader to pray for Chivhayo except himself.
And now, following Chivhayo's death, Katsiru's name is once again attracting attention.
A video circulating shows Katsiru instructing mourners to stop playing jiti music during the funeral proceedings.
When you put the pieces together, you get a man whose life has crossed some very interesting and sometimes controversial parts of Zimbabwean public life:
Religion.
ZANU-PF politics.
Parliament.
Political factionalism.
A rape conviction that was later overturned on appeal.
More than two years in prison.
A subsequent acquittal.
An internal ZANU-PF disciplinary finding over alleged misuse of funds.
A very close spiritual relationship with one of Zimbabwe's most flamboyant "businessmen"
That is quite a history.

A managed service provider, often called an MSP, may handle help desk support, patching, monitoring, backups, cybersecurity, vendor coordination, network management, and strategic planning. Pricing can vary widely, so business owners need to understand what is included before comparing proposals.
The most common pricing model is per user per month. This charges a fixed amount for each employee or account supported. It is simple to budget and often includes help desk, workstation support, basic security tools, and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration. Some MSPs price per device instead, charging for each workstation, server, firewall, or network device.
Another model is tiered pricing. A basic tier may include monitoring and limited support. A standard tier may include unlimited remote support, patching, antivirus, and backup monitoring. A premium tier may add cybersecurity, compliance reporting, onsite visits, disaster recovery, and strategic planning. Tier names vary, so compare the actual services, not the label.
Break-fix support is different from managed services. With break-fix, the provider is paid when something breaks. This may seem cheaper, but it can encourage reactive support. Managed IT is usually proactive, with the provider responsible for preventing problems, monitoring systems, and maintaining security.
Scope is the most important part of the contract. Does the monthly fee include onsite visits? After-hours support? Server support? Firewall management? Vendor calls? New computer setup? Employee onboarding and offboarding? Printer support? Phone systems? Cloud applications? Security awareness training? Without clear scope, a low monthly price can turn into frequent extra charges.
Cybersecurity features can significantly affect pricing. Modern MSP packages may include endpoint detection and response, managed antivirus, DNS filtering, email security, phishing training, multifactor authentication support, vulnerability scanning, security monitoring, log review, and incident response planning. Businesses in finance, health care, legal, education, and professional services may need stronger controls because they handle sensitive information.
Backups and disaster recovery should be reviewed separately. Some MSPs monitor backups but do not provide the backup platform. Others include cloud backup, server imaging, Microsoft 365 backup, and recovery testing. Ask whether restore testing is included and how quickly systems can be recovered after ransomware or hardware failure.
Service level agreements explain response expectations. A good agreement should define priority levels, response times, support hours, escalation procedures, and communication methods. Response time is not the same as resolution time. Ask how emergencies are handled and whether after-hours support costs extra.
Contracts may require one-year or multi-year commitments. Before signing, understand cancellation terms, price increases, data ownership, documentation access, device ownership, software licensing, and what happens if you change providers. The business should retain access to domain registrations, admin accounts, documentation, and backups.
When comparing MSP proposals, create a matrix. List each provider and compare included services, security stack, backup scope, onsite support, support hours, response times, contract length, project rates, licensing, compliance experience, and references. This makes differences easier to see.

Securities Class Action Lawsuit: Investor Rights After Stock Losses
rnrn
Not every stock loss creates a lawsuit. Markets go up and down. Companies miss earnings. Investors take risks.
rnrn
But when investors lose money because a company allegedly misled the market, hid important information, or made false statements, a securities class action lawsuit may follow.
rnrn
These cases can help shareholders seek recovery after alleged securities fraud.
rnrn
What Is a Securities Class Action?
rnrn
A securities class action is a lawsuit brought on behalf of investors who bought or held securities during a specific period and suffered losses tied to alleged misconduct.
rnrn
The claims may involve:
rnrn
False financial statements
rnMisleading public disclosures
rnHidden risks
rnAccounting fraud
rnInsider misconduct
rnUndisclosed investigations
rnInflated stock price
rnMerger-related misstatements
rnFailure to disclose material information
rnrn
The SEC oversees securities exchanges, brokers, dealers, investment advisers, and mutual funds to promote fair dealing and disclosure of important market information.
rnrn
Who Can Be Included?
rnrn
A securities class may include investors who purchased a company’s stock, bonds, or other securities during a defined class period.
rnrn
Eligibility often depends on:
rnrn
Security purchased
rnPurchase date
rnSale date
rnLoss amount
rnClass period
rnType of claim
rnCourt-approved settlement terms
rnrn
Investors should keep trading records.
rnrn
What Is a Class Period?
rnrn
The class period is the time during which alleged misconduct affected the security price.
rnrn
For example, investors who bought stock between certain dates may be included if they suffered losses after corrective information was disclosed.
rnrn
The class period is critical because it determines who may be eligible.
rnrn
What Must Investors Prove?
rnrn
Securities class actions can be legally complex. Plaintiffs may need to show:
rnrn
A false or misleading statement
rnA material omission
rnScienter, or wrongful state of mind, in some cases
rnReliance
rnLoss causation
rnDamages
rnrn
These cases often require expert economic analysis.
rnrn
Common Triggers for Securities Class Actions
rnrn
Securities lawsuits may follow:
rnrn
Stock price drops
rnRestatements
rnSEC investigations
rnMissed revenue disclosures
rnProduct safety revelations
rnExecutive misconduct
rnAccounting problems
rnCybersecurity failures
rnRegulatory actions
rnMerger disputes
rnBankruptcy-related disclosures
rnrn
A stock drop alone is usually not enough. There must be a legal theory connecting the loss to alleged wrongdoing.
rnrn
Lead Plaintiff Deadline
rnrn
Securities class actions often have lead plaintiff deadlines.
rnrn
The lead plaintiff may help represent the class and work with counsel. Investors with larger losses may seek appointment as lead plaintiff.
rnrn
If you receive notice of a securities lawsuit, pay attention to deadlines.
rnrn
What Can Investors Recover?
rnrn
A settlement may provide cash payments to investors who file valid claims.
rnrn
Payment amounts may depend on:
rnrn
Number of shares
rnPurchase price
rnSale price
rnRecognized loss
rnTotal settlement fund
rnNumber of claims
rnCourt-approved plan of allocation
rnrn
Investors often need brokerage statements to prove transactions.
rnrn
Why Securities Class Actions Are Difficult
rnrn
These cases are heavily litigated. Defendants may argue:
rnrn
Statements were not false
rnRisks were disclosed
rnLosses were caused by market forces
rnThe company lacked wrongful intent
rnInvestors cannot prove reliance
rnClass certification requirements are not met
rnrn
Recent appellate decisions show that certification disputes in securities class actions can be highly technical and closely scrutinized.
rnrn
What Investors Should Do
rnrn
If you think you may be part of a securities class action:
rnrn
Save brokerage records
rnTrack purchase and sale dates
rnSave notices
rnReview class period
rnFile claim forms on time
rnAvoid fake recovery scams
rnSpeak with an attorney if losses are large
rnrn
Final Thoughts
rnrn
A securities class action lawsuit may give investors a way to seek recovery after alleged corporate misconduct.
rnrn
But these cases are complex. Stock losses alone are not enough. Evidence, timing, disclosures, and expert analysis all matter.
rnrn
If you lost significant money after alleged fraud or misleading statements, speak with a qualified securities class action attorney.
