Two Women in Court for Burning Trevor Dongo’s Property valued at US$21,178.00

Tanaka Mafukidze (24) and Prudent Chipo Musimike (25) appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on charges of malicious damage to property. Their trial is set for June 11, 2025.

The incident happened on March 21, 2025, at a flat in Lombard Mansions, Harare, owned by Rosemary Danda. The flat caught fire, and Danda found it burning with two drunk women at the scene. Investigations showed the flat was rented by Trevor Dongo.

On

that day, Dongo had lunch with his girlfriend, Mafukidze (Accused 1), who came to his flat with her friend, Musimike (Accused 2). Dongo and Mafukidze argued about Musimike’s presence. He left to fetch a friend, and while he was gone, the two women continued arguing and allegedly started the fire. When Dongo returned, his property was burning. The damage was valued at US$21,178.00.
