“Police are investigating a rape and robbery case that took place at Kuwadzana 7 turn-off.

“Circumstances were that on January 6 at around 8pm, the complainant was at a night club in town when she phoned her aunt and informed her that she was visiting her boyfriend in Kuwadzana.

“The accused person, who was behind her, overheard the conversation and approached her.

“The accused person allegedly informed the complainant that he was also going to Kuwadzana.

 

 

 

 

They boarded a commuter omnibus at the intersection of Chinhoyi Street and Samora Machel Avenue.

“Upon reaching Kuwadzana 7 turn-off, the accused person asked to be dropped and the man also disembarked.  “They walked along the road at an open space and the accused person grabbed her and demanded valuables.

“He searched her and took a Huawei Cellphone and US$25 before raping her once without protection and fled the scene,” said
