Chelsea Tariro Hlomayi has publicly shared allegations of domestic abuse, claiming she endured months of verbal, emotional and physical abuse during a past relationship. In a Facebook post shared on Wednesday, Hlomayi said she had remained silent for six months before deciding to speak out about what she described as a painful and traumatic experience.

According to her statement, what allegedly began as verbal abuse later escalated into physical violence. She claimed she was repeatedly accused of things she did not do, degraded and falsely blamed for infidelity. Hlomayi also alleged that she was exposed to substance abuse during the relationship, saying she had never used cocaine herself but witnessed its devastating effects on someone she loved. She further stated that she did nothing to deserve being assaulted or emotionally broken down.

Explaining why she chose to speak publicly, Hlomayi said she was tired of being blamed and shamed for what had happened. She ended her message with words of encouragement for other women experiencing similar situations, saying they deserve peace and reminding them that the abuse is not their fault. “I chose to leave. I choose me,” she wrote, emphasizing her decision to walk away from the relationship and prioritize her well-being.
