#Highfields A woman is suing the City of Harare for US$10 000 in damages after she allegedly gave birth unattended at a kanzuru clinic in Highfields. The woman who had gone to the clinic after feeling contraction pains was given pain medication and a nurse told her she should return home since delivery was not imminent.

Unfortunately home was not an option for her as the pains continued. The nurses allegedly left her in bed alone and around 9PM she tried to relieve herself in a bucket which led to her giving birth instead. The woman said she cried for help but no one came and she proceeded to give birth by herself in pain and anguish. She fell to the ground and still there was no medical urgency. The following day the baby and mother were discharged without any medical examinations.

Kanzuru however denied that the woman gave birth alone instead they insist there were two nurses who assisted her delivery and discharged her with a healthy baby in her arms. Kanzuru further argued that the woman has no witnesses or evidence proving negligence or linking injuries from the night. The presiding Judge ruled that a full trial must be conducted and that the woman's case must be heard. She is seeking a full acknowledgement of error from the kanzuru as well as US$10 000 in damages.

Do you believe the woman's story or you believe kanzuru nurses did not abandon her?
