Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume has ordered an immediate investigation into the deaths of three people in Budiriro.

The tragedy unfolded at a massive sewer rehabilitation site managed by the City of Harare. Initially, authorities received reports that a man had fallen into a mud-filled excavation while walking home.

Consequently, emergency services rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. The search involved the City of Harare Fire Brigade and a specialized sub-aqua team.

The team was led by experienced diver Victor Kazembe, widely known as Coach Rambo
