Harare Magistrates to inspect physical injuries and ordered official medical examinations for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s daughter-in-law and her co-accused on Friday

Sisi remanded custody or prison kusvika musi wa 13 august ndipo pavachataura zve bail kana zvichiita or not. Mr C ndofunga havana power amai vari kumira miraHARARE — A Harare magistrate cleared the courtroom to inspect physical injuries and ordered official medical examinations for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s daughter-in-law and her co-accused on Friday, following allegations of police brutality during their arrest.

The claims of excessive force emerged during a bail hearing for Kelsea Tadiwa Tafrenyika, 22, and her maternal uncle, Isaac Arab Jessub. Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa reserved judgment on their bail application until August 12 following the dramatic court session.

Defense attorney Malvern Mapako told the court that arresting officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics unit used violence during the August 4 raid at Tafrenyika’s Greystone Park residence.

According to the defence, Tafirenyika and Jessub were heavily beaten, forced to surrender their mobile phones, and compelled under duress to sign seizure certificates.

“The court has ordered that Tafirenyika and her co-accused be medically examined after they raised complaints against police officers,” Mapako said following the proceedings.

The investigating officer denied all allegations of assault in court. However, after the defence insisted that both defendants bore physical evidence of heavy beatings, Magistrate Gofa took the step of clearing the courtroom to privately inspect the areas where Tafirenyika and Jessub claimed to have sustained injuries.

Following the private inspection, Magistrate Gofa sustained the defence request and ordered that both defendants undergo immediate medical examinations while remaining in custody.

Tafirenyika, the second wife of Collins Mnangagwa, and Jessub were arrested after police allegedly recovered pethidine, morphine, and cannabis during the Greystone Park raid. The court will deliver its ruling on whether to grant the pair bail next Wednesday. -Mazvinzwaka kuti kelsey munangagwa anoshandisa zita Getrude badza when doing criminal activities ????awanikwa ane iD..cde Getrude Badza????

The real estate market continues to evolve, and successful investors are adapting to new trends. Here are some of the most effective strategies to consider:

rnrn

1. Buy-and-Hold Rental Properties

rnrn

This is one of the most popular strategies. Investors purchase properties and rent them out, generating steady monthly income while benefiting from long-term appreciation.

rnrn

2. Short-Term Rentals

Legal

rnrn

Platforms like Airbnb have made short-term rentals more accessible. These properties can generate higher income compared to traditional rentals, especially in high-demand locations.

rnrn

3. Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)

rnrn

For those who prefer a hands-off approach, REITs allow you to invest in real estate without owning physical property. They provide exposure to commercial properties and often pay dividends.

Drunk Driving Law

rnrn

4. Fix-and-Flip

rnrn

This strategy involves purchasing undervalued properties, renovating them, and selling them for a profit. While potentially lucrative, it requires experience and careful cost management.

rnrn

5. Commercial Real Estate

rnrn

Investing in office spaces, retail properties, or industrial buildings can offer higher returns but may require larger capital and expertise.

Best Mortgage Refinance Options When Interest Rates Are High

Mortgage refinancing can help homeowners save money, lower monthly payments, change loan terms, or access home equity. But when interest rates are high, refinancing becomes more complicated.

rnrn

A mortgage refinance means replacing your current home loan with a new one. The new loan may have a different interest rate, payment amount, loan length, or structure.

rnrn

The most common reason to refinance is to get a lower interest rate. But if current rates are higher than your existing mortgage rate, refinancing may not make sense unless you have another financial goal.

rnrn

Some homeowners refinance to switch from an adjustable-rate mortgage to a fixed-rate mortgage. This can provide more predictable monthly payments.

rnrn

Others use a cash-out refinance to access home equity. This means borrowing more than you currently owe and receiving the difference in cash. The money may be used for home improvements, debt consolidation, or major expenses. However, this increases your mortgage balance and may raise your monthly payment.

rnrn

When rates are high, homeowners should carefully calculate the break-even point. This is how long it takes for monthly savings to cover closing costs. If you plan to move soon, refinancing may not be worth it.

rnrn

You should also compare lenders. Mortgage refinance rates, fees, closing costs, and loan terms can vary. A lower rate may not always be the best deal if the fees are too high.

rnrn

Credit score, income, debt-to-income ratio, home value, and equity all affect refinance approval and pricing. Improving your credit and reducing debt before applying may help you qualify for better terms.

rnrn

Refinancing can be useful, but it is not always the right move. Homeowners should compare the total cost, monthly payment, loan length, and long-term savings before making a decision.

rnrn

The best refinance option is the one that fits your financial goals, not just the one with the lowest advertised rate.

Medicare Part D Plans: Prescription Drug Coverage Explained

rnrn

Prescription drug costs can be one of the biggest concerns for people on Medicare.

rnrn

Medicare Part D helps pay for prescription medications. It is offered by private companies approved by Medicare.

rnrn

Medicare says Part D helps pay for brand-name and generic drugs, and it is optional coverage available to everyone with Medicare.

rnrn

Who Needs Medicare Part D?

rnrn

You may need Part D if you have Original Medicare and want prescription drug coverage.

rnrn

You may also receive drug coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan that includes Part D.

rnrn

Even if you do not take prescriptions now, Medicare says you should consider drug coverage to avoid a possible late enrollment penalty if you join later without creditable coverage.

rnrn

What Do Part D Plans Cover?

rnrn

Part D plans cover prescription medications, but each plan has its own formulary.

rnrn

A formulary is the list of covered drugs.

rnrn

Plans may organize drugs into tiers such as:

rnrn

Preferred generic
rnGeneric
rnPreferred brand
rnNon-preferred brand
rnSpecialty drugs

rnrn

The tier affects your cost.

rnrn

What to Check Before Choosing a Part D Plan

rnrn

Your Exact Medications

rnrn

List every medication, including:

rnrn

Drug name
rnDosage
rnQuantity
rnFrequency
rnPreferred pharmacy
rnGeneric or brand preference

rnrn

Small differences can change your annual cost.

rnrn

Pharmacy Network

rnrn

Some plans have preferred pharmacies where your cost may be lower.

rnrn

Check:

rnrn

Retail pharmacy pricing
rnPreferred pharmacy pricing
rnMail-order options
rnOut-of-network pharmacy rules

rnrn

Restrictions

rnrn

A plan may require:

rnrn

Prior authorization
rnStep therapy
rnQuantity limits

rnrn

These rules can affect access and cost.

rnrn

2026 Part D Out-of-Pocket Cap

rnrn

For 2026, Medicare says yearly out-of-pocket costs for Part D-covered prescription drugs are capped at $2,100. Once that cap is reached, you do not pay copayments or coinsurance for covered Part D drugs for the rest of the calendar year.

rnrn

This is important for people with expensive medications.

rnrn

Part D Late Enrollment Penalty

rnrn

If you go without Part D or other creditable prescription drug coverage for too long after becoming eligible, you may owe a late enrollment penalty.

rnrn

Medicare says the 2026 late enrollment penalty is calculated using 1% of the national base beneficiary premium, which is $38.99 in 2026, multiplied by the number of full uncovered months.

rnrn

Extra Help for Drug Costs

rnrn

Extra Help is a Medicare program for people with limited income and resources. It helps pay Part D premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and other costs. Medicare says people receiving Extra Help also do not pay a Part D late enrollment penalty while they have Extra Help.

rnrn

Common Part D Mistakes

rnrn

Avoid:

rnrn

Choosing by premium only
rnNot checking your exact medications
rnIgnoring preferred pharmacy pricing
rnMissing enrollment deadlines
rnAssuming all plans cover all drugs
rnNot reviewing the plan each year
rnIgnoring prior authorization rules
rnFailing to apply for Extra Help if eligible

rnrn

How Often Should You Review Your Part D Plan?

rnrn

Review your Part D plan every year.

rnrn

Plans can change:

rnrn

Premiums
rnDeductibles
rnFormularies
rnDrug tiers
rnPharmacy networks
rnRestrictions
rnCopays

rnrn

Even if your plan worked last year, it may not be the best choice next year.

rnrn

Final Thoughts

rnrn

Medicare Part D can help reduce prescription drug costs, but the right plan depends on your medications and pharmacy.

rnrn

Before enrolling, compare formularies, drug tiers, pharmacy pricing, deductibles, and total annual cost.

rnrn

The best Part D plan is not always the cheapest monthly premium. It is the one that lowers your real prescription costs.
