Hi Crime Watch. I want to report an issue I had with Harare City parking today. I got in town around 12pm, then paid for my parking at exactly 12:08 hrs for a 1 hour ticket. However a few minutes after I made the payment, a Parking Marshall came and left an unpaid packing ticket for 12:14 hrs to 13:14hrs, I didn't really go through the ticket and I approached the Marshall who was very arrogant.
I tried to call the Harare City to get the ticket to be cleared. However when I called them they said I did not owe any parking fees. I was shocked and as I was going through the ticket I realized that the Marshall had mistakenly entered ADY instead of AFY (my car's number plate) on the ticket, meaning that there is someone innocent out there whose car had been put an arrears. I approached the Parking Marshall and told her of this issue.
Again, she was very rude, arrogant and said "kana mota yenyu ya clearwa zvemunhu uyu zvinei nemi" and she claimed that there was nothing she could do about it. I ended up having to call the city council again myself so that they can clear the arrear on that person's car. I was highly shocked by the Parking marshal's behaviour and dishonesty. So my question now is vanhu vangani varikuisirwa zvikwereti even vasina kana kupinda muTown.
