A kombi driver says his hands were burnt by his employer, who was using a cigarette lighter, after a row triggered by concerns by the businessman that his employee had not cashed the full amount of money.
Saini Mwogeni sustained injuries on both hands after being assaulted by his employer Fortune Mbizo.
“On the day in question, I was hired to drop passengers in Guruve and on my return I picked passengers and charged them US$8 each. Mbizo accused me of pocketing the other money saying the charges were supposed to be US$12 each. He locked me in a room and tortured me with a cigarette lighter.
