Evidence Chihera Interviews Gushungo The Artist Accused Of Copying Jah Prayzah & Andy Muridzo

Evidence Chihera found Tatenda Gomwe aka Gushungo the artist thats being accused of being a Jah prayzah and Andy Muridzo Copycat. Gushungo says he is not a copy cat but just sings the same type of music as Jah and Andy watch the video below as Evedence Chihera interviews him.

fusion artiste Tatenda Gomwe, popularly known as Gushungo (picturedright), is working on his second album.

The second project, an eight-track album, is titled Ndidane. It carries tracks Mubvunzo, Ma Mo yo, Ne hand a, Mh uri Yangu, Va ku ru, Dzudzo Mum usha, Chembere Dzomudziva and the title track.

He draws his inspiration from Andy Muridzo and Jah Prayzah.

“I got inspired by Andy Muridzo and JP that is why l sound more like them, but l am di erent from them,” Gushungo said.

Although Gushungo and Muridzo are from the same “Gushungo” (crocodile) totem, Muridzo has never helped Gushungo in his music career.

“We are close yes and are of the same totem, but l have failed to help Gushungo because he has always wanted to look and sound like me, hence he tries to copy everything that l do so helping him is always di cult,” Muridzo said.

The 30-year-old Gushungo’s debut album titled Machembere was released last year.

The artiste believes his rst album did not make much impact due to the lockdown regulations.

“My rst album was hit hard by the rst lockdown in April last year. We did not have time to market it and live shows were banned as well, but we have recti ed our mistakes and we are going to do better this time," added Gushungo.
