Botswana Police Service apprehended Zimbabwean Nkomo at a farm near Gantsi following a tip-off from the public. During a search of the premises,

#ZCupdates : A 51-year-old : A 51-year-old Zimbabwean national, Clifford Nkomo, appeared before the Gantsi Magistrate Court on April 13, 2026, after being arrested for his involvement in a massive dagga cultivation operation.

 

 

 

The Botswana Police Service apprehended Nkomo at a farm near Gantsi following a tip-off from the public. During a search of the premises, authorities discovered a large-scale plantation of green plants suspected to be dagga, weighing an estimated 500 kilograms. The street value of the plantation is believed to be approximately P250,000. 

 

 

 

 

In addition to the field of plants, a further search of the farm led to the recovery of multiple sachets containing suspected dagga. These sachets weighed about one kilogram and carried an estimated value of P2,600. Nkomo now faces two legal counts: Unlawful Cultivation of Plants for Narcotic or Psychotropic Purposes and Unlawful Possession of Illicit Substances. Following his initial court appearance, Nkomo was remanded in prison while police continue their investigations into the matter. He is scheduled to reappear before the Gantsi Magistrate Court on April 27, 2026.
