 A Glen View woman had arguements over infidelity with her husband and poisoned her one-year-old son. She is now being charged of murder and has appeared before the court.

 The suspect, Gamuchirayi Pawandiwa, 25, is facing a third schedule offence in which she was referred to the High Court for bail considerations since she was remanded. She was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Judith Taruvinga.

 The first complainant is Francis Pawandiwa, 33, and the second complainant is the couple’s child Tadiwa.

 The state alleged that on November 20, Gamuchirayi and her husband started arguing when he had refused to buy her airtime and she began to accuse her husband of having an affair and from that day their relationship became sour.

 Gamuchirayi reportedly began to threaten to kill their child and commit suicide and on November 26 she reportedly then acted on her threats and took poison which she also gave to her baby.

 Matthew Nyoka, a relative to Pawandiwa was at the couple’s home and smelt the pesticide which was coming from the bedroom and went to check ti see what was going on, only to find that the door had been blocked with a fridge.

 Nyoka hurriedly alerted other relatives, they pushed the door down and when they had entered the room they saw Pawandiwa who was with her child and they were taken to the hospital.

 The couple separated with Gamuchirayi taking ustody of their child and she bacame violent when her husband came to see their child she became violent and assaulted him and bit him on his neck twice.
