The trial of Agnes Setshwantsho, the woman who allegedly killed a number of her family members, in order to claim insurance money, will start in January next year.
Setshwantsho faces a charge of murder, two counts of fraud and defeating the end of justice. She was arrested in Gauteng late last year. After the Molopo Magistrate Court denied her bail, the case was later transferred to the North West High Court for trial.
Setshwantsho’s lawyer Hlanhla Mahlangu says, “At least now she will ventilate the issues that she wants to ventilate. At least now we will get some sense as to what is happening in this matter. As you would know that nobody is certain what transpired.”
“You would remember that there was an indication that they were going to exhume certain persons, her late husband in this instance, and we are still waiting on that. So, we know that we have one charge of murder, two counts of fraud and one count of defeating the end of justice. At least we are making headway,” adds Mahlangu.
