60-year-old man from Hurungwe Caught with Grand Daughter 14

KAROI — A 60-year-old man from Hurungwe has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for the repeated rape of his 14-year-old granddaughter, according to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ).

The Karoi Regional Magistrates' Court convicted the man on two counts of rape following an investigation sparked when the teenager reported the abuse to social welfare officers.

The first assault occurred when the victim was left in her grandfather's care while her grandmother was away. Prosecutors said the man lured the girl into his bedroom by asking for her assistance, before raping her and threatening to evict her from the family homestead if she disclosed the attack.

A second assault took place approximately a month later. According to the authorities, the man followed the teenager to a garden where she was gathering vegetables and fetching water, and raped her again.

Seeking help, the 14-year-old subsequently confided in social welfare workers. The disclosure triggered a formal investigation that led to the man's arrest and eventual 40-year sentence. - zIMBO LIVE Harare

Life Insurance Quotes: Protecting Your Family

Life insurance helps protect your family financially if you pass away. The money can help cover funeral costs, mortgage payments, debts, childcare, education, and income replacement.

When comparing life insurance quotes, most people choose between term life and whole life insurance.

Term Life Insurance

Term life insurance provides coverage for a set period, such as 10, 20, or 30 years. It is often more affordable and can be a good choice for families with children or a mortgage.

Whole Life Insurance

Whole life insurance is designed to last for life and may build cash value. It usually costs more than term life insurance but may be useful for long-term planning.

How Much Coverage You Need

Coverage needs depend on income, debts, dependents, and future expenses. Many families choose enough coverage to replace several years of income.

Conclusion

Comparing life insurance quotes can help you find affordable protection and choose the right policy for your family.
