Zvadhakwa | 4 charged over vehicle fires at Chivayo, Tagwirei and Mangudya offices
Four Chitungwiza men, Last Matarutse (40), Abel Jobe (47), Kizito Chinhanga (40), and Thomas Chanetsa, appeared in court on Wednesday, facing charges of malicious damage to property. They allegedly attempted to burn down properties linked to Zanu PF-affiliated businessmen on March 28, 2025.
The accused were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa and were remanded in custody, with instructions to seek bail at the High Court.
Prosecutors allege they set vehicles on fire outside the offices of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, petroleum tycoon Kudakwashe Tagwirei, a DA petrol station reportedly linked to Tagwirei, and a business complex owned by Kuvimba Mining CEO John Mangudya in Goromonzi.
