Former Finance Minister Ignatius Chombo was arrested today in the morning by the Special Anti Corruption Unit (SACU). The development was confirmed by a local publication Zimmorningpost on their official Twitter handle; According to the publication, Chombo was arrested and charged with one count of fraud and five counts of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer. His arrest is believed to be in connection with the Uchena Land Commission report- a land commission led by Justice Tendai Uchena, that was established to investigate the various dealings involving urban land and land barons.
